Up at the butt-crack of dawn
Cats: words|Taken from the well-known expression, “crack of dawn”, this delightful little meme compares that moment when the sun peeks over the horizon of a country field and the moment when an overweight plumber’s low-slung jeans slip down another inch giving observers the magnificent moon-rise. I’ve also heard it said as “builder’s cleavage.” Whatever the expression, the visuals left the aftermath are unforgettable.

What, no pictures?!
I’ve always called it ‘plumbers crack’, and always have to resist the temptation not to put garbage or pour liquids in it.

Now that is an excellent neologism or whatever it’s called. Perfect – I tried to sleep in Saturday morning but the kids woke me up at the butt-crack of dawn. Modernising an expression that had lost the meaning of its origins.
We always called it “plumber’s butt”

In Britain, I’ve heard it called Dagenham cleavage. Dagenham is a part of East London where automotive manufacturing plants are (or were) located.
