Well, GT’s been tagged by Dale for my favourite restaurants where I live. I was also tagged for this last week by the lovely Jacy. That means I pick up the links to the others who have been tagged for this and add my own list of five fave restaurants. Then I place my link at the bottom of the list, sort of like a chain letter.

GT will be tagging some GT readers and lurkers later today so get thinking about your fave restaurants.

I’ve used a system of categories and dollar signs to denote style and price. Four is the maximum.

1. In the trendy category – Onyx, urbane, beautifully appointed, posh drinks, exquisite food and v. Toronto. $$$$

2. Italian category - DaMaurizio, old skool northern Italian, great service with understated olde worlde atomosphere $$$$

3. SE Asian – Ginger Grass. Small unassuming (read: not expensive) Thai Vietnamese place recently taken over by Thai woman. Best Thai food since Thailand. $$

4. Quick lunch with girls category – Hungry Chili. Tiny hole in wall with best Szechuan in Halifax. Great for quick weekday lunches. Lots of heat. $

5. Brit pub with family or friends category – Henry House – early 19th century English pub with proper English ale, bitters, lager, great pub food and excellent Blighty atmosphere. $$$
