Let’s just clear a little something up
Cats: CBC Radio, politics|The people who are running the minority federal government in Canada are not Tories. They are a group of neo-liberals and social conservatives emerging from the Western alienation Reform Party which reformed under the new banner of Canadian Alliance and then reformed again under the banner of Conservatives. Lately there is a new movement to refer to them as the Reformatives to distinguish them from the real Tories.
The Tories is the name for the federal party once known as the PROGRESSIVE Conservatives. Progressive Conservatives were a party with a history that goes back to the birth of Canada. The Progressive Conservatives have deep routes in Eastern Canada as opposed to the Conservative (AKA Reform Party – Refories?) with roots in Western Canada and a much shorter history.
Calling Conservatives Tories is would be like calling a white house the White House. They are not one in the same. And public broadcasters like the CBC should know better that to casually refer to the Conservatives as Tories.

Tomorrow, I ask Preston what he believes tomorrow. Preston had Buck 65 on a couple week ago. It was very inspiring.

I have to look up what that Buck 65 thing is…(is it a person? A musical group? A mullet?)

They should be known as the Transfer Payment Reform Party. Why should the west pay to help people remain unemployed on the east coast when we need the workers out here?

Is that the story Harpo’s peddling in the West?
Funny thing is that people in the East aren’t unemployed. They’ve all gone West. The east is looking for workers.
Meanwhile Harpo’s broken his word and a government contract. And he’s done this to drive wedges between different parts of the country so he can stoke resentment and harvest votes on the back of mis-informed resentment…
That’s just the sort of leader a country like Canada needs right now, a Karl Rove.

I was just reflecting on an attitude that I have been aware of for some time. Talk of BC and AB seperating from Canada because they don’t feel loved by the eastnocentric Federal Gov’ts of the past. The resource rich provinces having to bail out the poorer ones without any political influence on how their money is spent, etc…
Now it seems Harper is trying to make up for decades of perceived injustice in one term. It appears he never planned on having more than one term.
