We can draw lines through words, but why?
Cats: blogs, words|In this 21st-century post-modern era, we do things because we can.
Watching a movie on an iPod, for example. I CAN do this on my iPod, but why would I want to see Pirates III on a 2 by 2 inch screen when I can watch it on a 42 inch screen, for example? Ditto all that other media we’re going to be receiving on our cell phones. Yes, we can but do we know or care why?
Here is another thing we can do. We can write blog posts with lines through them like this. I see this all the time. One word, two words or sometimes an entire paragraph or post? We can do this, but can anyone tell me why. I’m serious, what does it mean when a post is lined out.

Usually one does the strikethrough on purpose to make a joke or to show that they know what they’re writing isn’t correct.
Let me think up an example…
I could say I miss you and that would be
a lieso true.Or something along those lines…waddaya want from me, I’m lapsing into a coma here after all the chinee foo I had for lunch with my old bosses.

I sort of knew this but wasn’t entirely sure there wasn’t something else, something deeper and more profound, something just beyond my grasp.
Did you know that MSG’s are no baaa fa u? They represent the 5th taste sensation. Lead us to our MSGs.
I
missyou too.May 28th, 2007 at 11:59 am
I laugh at MSG!
And then I eat it dipped in salt, and deep fried.
Bring it on, baby!

I just thought someone didn’t know how the delete key worked…
Seriously - how did you do the strikethru’s?
May 28th, 2007 at 1:55 pm
I see strike-through used when a document is still in draft mode & you want to show people the changes that have been maade, so the old text is crossed out and the new text follows. In a blog I guess if the typist changed the original post & didn’t strikethrough the old text, some of the original comments wouldn’t make any sense as they would be referring to the original text.

Tagbagger, type this before the text you want to be striked:
(I hope I explain this well, no crying if I don’t)…
Okay, what do you call this symbol: (but without the first little space I put) then the word you want stricken and then after the word.
I am not a great explainer (although I am perfect in every other way) so if this is no good, don’t bother complaining to me…I’m too busy doing nothing to take care of you.

Alrighty…I see this Wordpress doesn’t want to be my friend…Okay, I can handle that…Now my explanation sounds like I’m a mental defective…
try looking at this link instead…

grrr…rotten wordpress…making me look bad instead of the shining star I am…

Dang u Espanya,
I wanted to be the one to tell the techie tagbagger the proper html for strike thru.
Ahem:
square bracket - strike - close square bracket
your strike out word or words
square bracket -/strike - square bracket.
or
strike thruTB, Espanya is drunk on MSG’s and freakishly 37 weeks preggers (go to her blog and see for yourself), so you must forgive her

H& P, you are obviously an
academic
clever person
document manager
good editor
any of the above?
May 28th, 2007 at 3:53 pm
Hey, what happened to my other comment I made?
GT, you go around deleting me, willy nilly… (and really your instructions are better than mine…) (I’m going to go sit in a corner now and cry)
I am also looking for an editor. To help me finalize my book. What’s that GT? You want to help me? Ohmygod, I crush you even more with my love, that’s so sweet…

I hope it was all sweetness and light

The 6 was supposed to be a devil
The Y a thumbs up
and the last one a monkey face.

I thought they would work. I’m hanging my head in sadness.
Hmmm…I think I’m going to have a cup of tea and a couch.
May 28th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
Monkeys! I have mono congos a coming soon. Keep check in… and I’ll give you monos, espanya.
May 28th, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Awesome.
And you know, in Spanish we also use the word ‘mono’ or ‘mona’ to say cute.
Soy tan mona. (I’m so cute)
May 28th, 2007 at 5:26 pm
Thanks, GT. I would like to hope that I am most of the above. Except the document manager. I barely manage my e-mail. I do frequent a forum where people tend to backtrack on their original comments & if the original post is edited then the next 50 comments make absolutely no sense.
I also get stuck reading through a lot of draft documents that are being commented on by several people. In fact tomorrow I will probably help create a Franken-point presentation (we will borrow slides from several other presentations to make one new one)
May 28th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Frankenpoint - hahahahahah!
