Love the crocs pic, reminds me of those photos of wooden shoes you see from The Netherlands.

Are those shoes all yours GT?!
YAM you’re in the wrong thread, the crocs are in the Costa Rica thread. Don’t worry it happens all the time ( /- 10 standard deviations).

YAM, you are SUCH a Dutch tulip farmer’s daughter….
Dick, yes I was actually going to include that shot in the croc shots…

Those pics are beautiful. Maybe there is something to this Canada Dale and Tanya keep going on about.

GT, these pics are so great! They should be in a coffee table book.
Chelene, you just wait until we get you up here, you’re never going to want to leave.

I love the Maritimes, particularly in the summer. We are able to spend six weeks every summer in Antigonish county … beautiful beaches, theatre, hiking, family visits. I love Nova Scotia so much, and we have had wonderful times in PEI and New Brunswick as well. I wonder if everyone knows how lucky we are?

True, true and true.
Where in Antigonish? We have a cottage in Pictou C

We have land in Doctor’s Brook (between Malignant Cove and Arisaig). We hope to build a garage next year … seriously! We are going to put up a two-car garage on a slab, keep one side as a proper garage bay, and have a great room (with kitchenette), sleeping loft, and bathroom (with outdoor shower) on the other side. We will use this until we can afford to build a house on the land … which won’t be for a while. The well and septic will be in by the end of August. It’s very exciting. Eventually we might convert the garage back to a two-car garage, or keep it as-is for guests.
We stay with my Mum, who has a house with a flat attached to it (she rents to a student during the year). It works out very well, but we can’t wait to have our own place.

I have friends in MacLellan’s Brook, their place west-facing overlooking the Northumberland Strait. The sunsets are to die for. I love that coast. You are lucky.

I grew up on St. George’s Bay, which has beautiful sunrises, but I’ll go for a sunset any day. We are so lucky; it’s hard to find someone who will sell land.

I miss the east coast, but my career in forestry would have become a career in gas pumping if I would have stayed.
If only there were jobs the Maritimers truely would be lucky.
Coming over next summer, woo hoo!

IF ONLY if only….
But that will be great to see you next summer Dick. You can stay in our newly reno-ed cottage - I’m supposed to be there now, but alas, it’s behind schedule. I hope it will be done by next summer.
