GT swings left
Cats: typist & typewriter|As the American political pendulum swings, so does GT.
The change has nothing to do with the war in Iraq, the mafia of neo-cons or the sub-prime mortgage crisis.
It has to do with the pain bomblets going off in my upper back. Too much typing and too much right-hand mousing are to blame.
So in addition to incorporating new typist stretches and new typist sitting postures, I’ve given up right-hand mousing and switched to the left.
True, it’s a little awkward and it requires more thought, especially when right-clicking and left-clicking. It’s a bit like learning to drive on the other side of the road.
But I did learn to drive on the other side. And I will learn to mouse on the other side.
So what does that make me? A Bimousual? A Mousepaw? Ambimousedrous? Bad at mouse puns?

I am in awe. You have inspired me to attempt this comment using left mousing and it’s taken me about three days. You are awesome regardless of your mousuality.

Yes, BB, t’is true … my talent for right-to-left mousuality is exceeded only by my talent for bad puns.

But I’m impressed that you had a go and told everyone how hard it is – it’s taking up a large portion of my brain space. I wonder if being a left-handed mouser will make me smarter?

I could never mouse with my left hand. Never! But my wife does the same thing & it’s confusing as hell every time I sit at her PC.

Flip-Flopper!!!

I can’t do it. I can’t even eat with my left hand.
I can usually be counted on for a bad pun, but I’m blank.

Patrick, welcome to GT,
So does your wife switch from right to left and then back again? Yeah! Another one. I thought I was alone.
MdG, I fear you are right. As long as my back keep up, I will always be flippin’ and floppin’

You the Bionic Mouser! My left hand is so lame; it hates having to do special projects. To add to my neurotic reputation: I wish I were left-handed because all the cool people are.

BeckEye, this is the last thing I would have expected from a pundamentalist like you!
Beth, Bionic Mouser! Ha.
I too always wanted to be a lefty because for reason you state. They were also smarter and less conformist, as a general rule.

I always use a mouse in my right hand, but I’m left handed so it just made sense. I can write while I’m mousing. It wasn’t until much later that I realized as a leftie the expectation is that I should have the mouse in my left hand.
BTW GT you should be able to customize your mouse function (click commands).
