I went fishing and guess what I caught?

Talk about the big one.
Talk about getting a hook in your finger.
Talk about using a harpoon to do your fishing next time.

I caught a sunfish once, and then threw it back.
That’s my experience with fishing and it wasn’t even on a boat, from the dock. Adventurous, I know.

If you don’t have a harpoon you could allways try dynamite … but if you look at this you might decide elsewise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vmnq5dBF7Y

You would think that would have taken a great deal more planning.
The Spousal Unit caught himself in the head with a hook as a youngster and has had a white patch in his hair on the same spot ever since. It gets less noticeable with each passing decade though.

“They had a remarkable skill for nibbling off the bait while avoiding the hook.”
Absolutely. When you fish off of a pier, the fish that are around that area have already figured out how to do this and the others that haven’t? They were frying pan fodder a long time ago.

Whoa, you caught a Typist! The most wiley of all the pier creatures! Wow, without using a typewriter or keyboard? Forget that guy down in North Carolina catching a twenty-one pound catfish with a Barbie Fishing Pole, you caught a Typist!

You could always try the Homer Simpson bug zapper-in-the-river trick.

Barbara, talk about long term consequences. Does he still get teased?
Cormac, whoa! BTW, I don’t look like that man or his daughter… or the cat fish!
