Telemarketers go down fighting
Cats: Uncategorized|It’s as though all the telemarketers have found out that I’ve been promoting the DO Not Call List.
Since writing a column and post on the new list, I’ve been inundated by calls from them. I’ve been receiving six and seven calls per day from those strange 1-800-555-5555 numbers.
This accounts for 75 percent of all the calls coming into my house
It’s like their last desperate push. Into oblivion.
Sadly, I’m now so jaded by the sound of a ringing phone that I no longer exert effort to get it. If it’s something important, they will leave a message.
They have until October 31. If calls come after that I will be the one doing the calling: to report them.
So I guess the joke is on the telemarketers.
Mwa hahahahahahaha!

Not answering the phone can teach you a lot about yourself and your acquaintences.
Some people will stop calling, which are generally the people with whom you will have a tentative relationship anyway.
I’m allergic to blackberries too.

Yesterday I had two telemarketer calls, both were computers, but I kept my finger on the * button on the keypad in any event and eventually it hung itself up. Obviously the only one feeling great about that was me but hey, whatever, it felt good to listen to that incessant beeping noise feeding back to those bits and bytes.
Today I registered all my numbers on the “do not call list”…..I’m not impressed that charities and political parties can continue to call, but it’s a start I suppose.
When a charity phones I ask them to send their information in the mail so I can review it first, they don’t seem to like that — they’d rather get my commitment and my visa number in one fell swoop.

Dick, my blackberry just rang. That was you wasn’t it? Calling and hanging up to play a joke on me, huh, huh?
YAM, just heard about another do not call list that blocks everything. It’s on a site called ioptout.ca.
Charities are another story! Some are v. slimey

I like telemarketers. They are great targets for my evil.

Dick, I’m allergic to blackberries as well.
Some company with a number like 208011 got a hold of my cell number and calls me at least once a day! I’m looking forward to the day I give up my cell phone…
