Barbara, finally, things are going the way I think it should. It’s a great day for the universe.

Come back and visit us more often when our new sane President takes over.

Dr Monkey,
I like to think that you had something to do with this win.
Congratulations. Which way did Tennessee go?

I’ll be posting on this at WILATU in the next couple of days, but it feels so damn good to not be looking around my country and asking, “What the hell are the rest of you thinking?!”

I am happy. Happier than I thought I would be. I was actually worried / scared that McCain would win. Not because it was McCain, but because it suggested status quo.
I held out hope, gave the American people the benefit of the doubt for soooo many years, and now they have come through. Thank you.

I wish I could feel this excited and optimistic after a Canadian election…
November 5th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Yeah, it’s somehow almost wrong to be so excited about the US election – maybe it’s just reaction formation after ours in Canada. But on the other hand – only 75 days 18 hours 14 minutes and a few seconds of Dubya remain. Check out the countdown at http://newprez.com

We need an Obama to inspire Canadians to care about our Politics…. Dion just didn’t do.

YAM, can we have a bottle of bourbon as our insert deity?
Megan, I knew you’d be happy about this.
Red, I must admit, we did wonder but we knew that Bush and Co. didn’t represent the whole country

Dick I think you hit the nail on the head. It’s more than just an election; it’s a new kind of democracy
Lori, it’s ironic that the States has the progressive visionary and Canada gets stuck with washed-up neo-cons
TagBagger, we’re excited because Obama will be more of a bilateralist and that means we won’t be bulldozed
And anyway, how can anyone get excited about Harper.
Nanc, too bad we don’t have a Trudeau.

I’m definitely feelin’ the love in my neighborhood.
