Almonds may be crazy; but they aren’t nuts
Cats: words|Can you believe that?
Almonds are not nuts. They are seeds or fruits or drupes.
But not nuts.
According to Wikipedia:
Botanically, the almond seed or fruit is not a true nut, but a drupe.
This factoid is yet another thing in the great pantheon of things that I did not know.
So if someone extends a bowl and says, “Nuts?” at your next Christmas par-tay, you can be a pedant and instruct them on botany of almonds.
Then you’ll be the life of the party. Won’t you?
So if almonds aren’t nuts, then does that mean that the Allman Brothers are not a band, but a bandsaw?

A peanut isn’t a nut either! It is a legume (peas, beans,…)
From my own Wiki search:
“All nuts are seeds, but not all seeds are nuts. Nuts are both the seed and the fruit, and cannot be separated. Seeds come from fruit, and can be removed from the fruit, like almonds, cashews and pistachios, which were once inside fruit”
I think it warrants further investigation, GT.

I sense sarcasm too, which supports the assertion.
Having looked at Ambera’s art, i don’t know if I measure up. She is very talented.
I’ve started cartooning again and may have to encorporate the ‘nut eater’ concept into my next strip.
I will share once I find a suitable host…that will clear things up.
