More Christmas movie watching
Cats: Uncategorized|Mystery writer, blogger and Trouble-Maker General Cormac Brown suggests the “Bogart Collection.”
“The Big Sleep,”1946
“Dark Pasage,”1947
“Key Largo.”1948
Also hilarious Buggs Bunny short featuring “Bogart” and “Baby.”
Allison from Flying Buttresses suggests:
All things Billy Wilder and Hepburn (Katherine and Audrey).
As for classic holiday films…Christmas Vacation 1989 tops all
Tanya Espanya likes these:
I also like to watch Love, Actually, except for the bits with Lantern Jaw, I mean, Kiera Knightly…I’m sure she’s lovely as a friend or whatever, but please, go eat a sandwich before you take my eye out.
There are more to come but I’ll let you watch these first.

“General?” I’m in charge of nothing in this house, The Missus rules with an iron frying pan.

My favorite is 1970 “Scrooge” with Albert Finney…it is a musical and is very rarely played on TV any more..My Sister gave it me a VHS copy a few years ago
Have a grand HO HO GT!

I’m totally with Tanya Espanya on this. That’s about as old-timey as I get as well.

I’m not big on schlocky Christmas movies. OK, I have enjoyed “A Christmas Story” & others in the past, but if I had my choice, honestly I’d watch some choice horror/suspense movie.

The Ref is my only required Christmas viewing each year.

Cormac, so you’re not in charge of trouble making?
Nanc, I just watched the 1930s British Scrooge with Alastair Simm. Fantastic
Barbara, I guess Radiohead and indie music uses up all your geekery.
cube, I’m not really big on Christmas movies either – I like watching old movies at Christmas time.
Dale, never head of it; shall look it up.

The trouble with these old movies is the low KPS (kills per second).
Anyone know of a good ‘oldie’ with good KPS?

We have the silly family tradition of watching Christmas Vacation every year…still makes me laugh.
Love, Actually is a great feel good movie. But what role does Keira Knightley play? I don’t remember her in it.

Dick, yah, it’s such a drag when the movies are smart and witty rather than dull and bang-bang
Sara I haven’t actually watched this movie – not big on sentimental Christmas movies unless they have deeper messages like It’s a Wonderful Life.

BTW, welcome to GT Sara, don’t think I’ve seen you here before

“Cormac, so you’re not in charge of trouble making?”
Only on the Internet…

Cormac, the possibilities are limitless

I want smart and whitty bang-bang.

Dick, I guess Tanantino is a good example of smart and witty bang bang
