My Bloody Valentine
Cats: CBC Radio, typist & typewriter, words|After almost chopping off the tip of my left index finger chopping carrots the other day, I noticed blood on my keyboard. The letters T, R, F, G, B, V were stained red. How poetic, I thought. How Dylanesque.
So I put out a call for lyrics for Blood on the Keyboard.
The Tartan Taxidermist – also known as Tonardo – responded. Doc sent some lyrics too.
Today being VD, I thought I’d post them.
Here are Tartan Taxidermist’s lyrics
Blood on the Keyboard:
In the dark of night
Your love is thrown away
So be careful of knives
In the light of day
Accusations are hard to make
When you can’t point finger
But the blood on your keyboard
Shows the pain still lingers
Leave your screams of agony
Leave your need to eviscerate
You need warm arms around you
And in love to commiserate
Accusations are hard to make
When you can’t point finger
But the blood on your keyboard
Shows the pain still lingers
And here are Doc’s:
Blood on the Keyboard
(in slow bluesy, smoky voice)
Blood on the tracks,
Blood on the keyboard.
Blood on the tracks,
Blood on the keyboard.
I can’t reach my cocktails and snacks,
You gotta he’p me Oh Lord!
(blues guitar solo followed by two verses that compare the pain of your finger with the broken hearts of the world and poverty in Africa)
Thanks guys.
Happy VD everyone.

Such talented people in your corner of the blogosphere! I do hope that these odes aid in the healing, or at the very least take away the pain.
If it’s going to be VD, it might as well be happy.

Pure talent. You have amazing friends. And the diversity of the style? Wow!
Now – can they pen some lyrics for “This Band-Aid is a Bitch?”

Each one better than the last.
Happy Valentines Day, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Dick. Dick! Where ya been? I was getting worried that it might have been something I said.
That would be a good name for a band VD and the Penicillin Daze. What think you?
Cormac. Guginal? (Although I’m sure it’s meant in the nicest of ways)

Seriously, are you okay. Have done the same thing, slicing onions. That really stings. David doesn’t allow me around sharp objects anymore and I didn’t get the chainsaw I wanted for Christmas.
