Listen! Hear that? Silence.

That’s because the election noise is over. At last.
For American and out-of-province visitors, it went like this:
The old bumbling guys went out off the toe of our collective boot.
And the new guys got in for the first time ever. And the came in on a majority.
We live in a nice place here, but our politics are corrupt, in-bread and dysfunctional.
Now there is a chance to clean it up.
We can but hope.

I find it curious how all of the prospective candidates claim to want what is best for us, but are opposed to each others platforms. Out west here the NDP never have a platform other than taking a contrary position to whomever is highest in the polls.
This time around they had to oppose the Liberals carbon tax because it wasn’t their idea. Thanks for looking out for our best interests!

I know what you mean Gail! I was ready to lose it by June 9th. I had voted at the first opportunity on May 28th, so anything I heard after that had no effect. I’m so glad it’s over. Now for the federal election!! Ahhhhh! I think I’ll go hide under a rock.

I sure hope the new guys take the opportunity to do something different and something meaningful. It would be refreshing.

Dick, I find the opposite, that platforms are basically the same and that personality wins or loses the day. And in Nova Scotia- where politicians – are very flat and uncharismatic (as opposed to Newfoundland), it makes for pretty dull elections which is why the voter turnout is so low, i suppose
Rebecca, good strategy, I should try that
Barbara, we can but hope.
Cormac double w00t!
