Hurra-hurra-Hurricane
Cats: Uncategorized|Just went down to the beach to feel the brunt of Hurricane Bill.
We are not in the eye of this monster storm (775 km wide) and our waves are not 14 meters like they are on other shores of the province, but it is impressive.
For a moment I stood on the top of the dunes far away from the water and leaned into the wind letting the blowing salt and sand pelt and exfoliate the skin on my face.
Quite magical.
We aren’t sure yet but we’re are guessing the winds are sustained at 60 kph with gusts of 70 kph.
There are some branches and trees down but electricity has stayed on.
Other parts of the province will take a direct hit.
Our thoughts are with them.

A few years back Sparky and I were at the beach when a hurricane was rumbling in. The waves were huge and the wind whipped the sand so hard at us it felt like bullets.

Now I’m singing that Neil Young song…you are like a hurricane…

Wow. Glad you’re ok, and it was an exhilarating experience and not a scary one.

We’ve been thinking of all you typists. Glad to hear that you have not been blown away or swept out to sea. Hang on!
