Is there VIAGRA for blogging?
Cats: blogs|You’ve heard all the excuses:
- Busy as a bee
- Life gets in the way
- Twitter’s taken over
- Computer problems
- sore neck and shoulders
- dead tired
This isn’t an “excuse” post, just a touch-down to say I haven’t gone away.
And I haven’t lost interest, although the old drive-2-post ain’t what it used to be.
In the old days, I used to post every day, sometimes twice in one day, including weekends. And I used to check my stats three or four times a day.
Now I hardly ever look.
Maybe this is what happens after more than three years on the blog.
Maybe it’s the blogger’s seven-year-itch or mid-life crisis.
What do other bloggers think? Are you experiencing a decline of enthusiasm or a cut-back on posting?
Is there VIAGRA for blogging?

I still try to post everyday other than the weekends, as anything I put up then gets overlooked. I usually let Fridays post run until Monday.
The ones I put up on Wednesday & Thursday seem to get the most comments.
I still check in twice a day. Once with my morning coffee and again with my evening beer. Blogging for most of the people I read has fallen off a bit but it is by no means dead. I think the season has a lot to do with it. Once the cold weather returns you will see blogdom become more active again.
I’ve been doing more video posts as it’s much quicker for me. I type very slowly and if I video it, it cuts four pages of text into a minute and a half, and that’s about as much time as I would expect most people to linger on my blog.
Is there VIAGRA for blogging? I find strong coffee or a cold beer “puts me in the mood” but it’s not a cure for the “got nothin’ to say blues”.

I’ve been more tired lately, but I’ve been making a real effort to stick with it. I’m worried that if I stop posting every day, I’ll end up quitting. Maybe I should make a schedule for myself.

I didn’t get past the first day or two. I think I still have a blog, just can’t remember what I called it.
You need a new passion to rant about, that’s all.

As for me, I am still fresh to the game, and I have to stop myself ranting more than once a day, and letting each post remain at the top for a couple of days. So many things which irritate me! If there was world enough, and time…

If you find the blogging Viagra, let me know.

I’m by no means an every-day poster, my writing bug comes and goes in waves. I’ve decided this is normal. And if it isn’t? Ah well. I’ve never really been normal anyways.

I hear you. I have noticed a lack of blog posts of late, and I have noticed a lack of blog comments of late, but I don’t think there is a drug to cure it.
I started my blog on a dare and it hasn’t earned me a penny in all the years I have maintained it. I suffered through years of 0 comments, yet I persevered until I was able to command at least 3 comments per post
Who knows what the future will bring in the blogosphere… for now, I’ll be here.
