Photoshopgate.
It’s the case of the model who was digitally disfigured for the Ralph Lauren ad.
We’ve been banging on for years about about the way the fashion industry is turning models into stick insects and toothpick people.
Well now, with this ad, we know the truth.
The fashion business really does want models to [...]
GT’s goin’ Cruuuuuuuzin’
travels| 4 Comments »Going on a cruise is the last thing I ever imagined myself doing
My travels have always been indie-type expeditions.
Six months backpacking solo through SE Asia, Australia and the South Pacifice.
Indie travel through Europe.
Living and working in Eastern Europe.
That sort of thing.
But an opportunity came up involving members of my beloved family and I thought, what [...]

Soccer Mom’s history!
Or at least that’s what the guy who invented her is saying.
Back in 1996 when Soccer Mom was first invented, she was part of a big tribe that acted, shopped and voted along predictable lines.
People like Karl Rove – George Bush’s special adviser – took advantage of this [...]
Turkey? No. I’ll have oysters for Thanksgiving
photos| 7 Comments »With Canadian Thanksgiving here and gone, I’m again left wondering why people insist on celebrating with turkey. Anyone else remember Skinny Minnie Miller, the bad girl of roller derby. Actually they were all bad girls in roller derby and that is what made it so brilliant.
Roller Derby was a [...]

Love em or hate em the Lady Cougars are taking over from the endangered four-legged species of the wild.
They are 40+ divorced, independent and self-assured. They know that most men their age are taken so younger guys with no attachments are on the menu.
The male equivalent is the Silver Fox. He’s been [...]
Do you have HiNi?
Uncategorized| 5 Comments »This is the new cool term for H1N1 or Swine Flu.
HiNi, (as in HiNeye.)
I overheard it in the dry sauna at the pool after my workout yesterday morning.
A couple of college girls were talking about HiNi. It’s so much cooler than H1N1 or Swine Flu.
I’ll take HiNi anyday over H1N1.
