Get off you cellphone, driver!
Cats: Uncategorized|I was almost T-boned by a woman driving an SUV and talking on her phone.
It’s illegal to do that in this province but people do. Apparently they don’t think it’s dangerous.
Well, it is dangerous to your health and mine. Some studies point out that its as dangerous as drinking and driving.

I agree with you totally. I think it’s getting worse.
What makes it even more dangerous is that while talking on the phone, these people are constantly scanning for police cars and not watching what’s in front of them.

Imagine what it’s like driving a motorcycle with these people making what must be very important calls that just couldn’t wait.

I agree 100% – I hope that it does not take as long to drive this message home as it did re: drunk driving

Here they are trying to enact legislation against phone use while driving, but only with the hand held units. Even though studies have shown that people using hand free units are just as distracted.
Don’t even get me started on texting while driving…

The GOOD news is the Police say, if you give them the plate, end a description of the driver, they will charge, which at least will get them into court, if not fined (bad news is you’ll be there too…)

I’d like to read the article…except it’s not there.

Regarding TagBagger’s comment – it’s true, I tried it and I did end up in court but it was closure for nearly being killed at a major downtown intersection by someone yakking away and not watching for pedestrians.
